Description
Frequency distributions and graphical methods, percentiles, measures of central tendency and variability, probability emphasizing binomial and normal distributions, sampling distributions, point and interval estimation, one and two sample hypothesis tests, simple linear regression. MINITAB or an equivalent computer package is introduced as a computational tool. Practical applications of statistics. Prerequisite: qualifying score on Math Placement exam or MATH 100 (recommended) or MATH 102 or higher (except MATH 204). GenEd I.C. or Core: Mathematics. Lab/Class fee will be assessed.
Enrollment Requirements
MATH 231 requires a grade of C (2.0) or higher in MATH 100, or MATH 102 or higher (excluding MATH 204), or a score of 30 or higher on ALEKS, or a score of 14 or higher on the Basic Algebra Test.
